Our understanding is that Bill had a heart attack while on vacation. It was unexpected, as his health was good. His ashes will be strewn on the beaches, and a ceremony will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.

New Albany - It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Callander. He closed his eyes for the last time on December 20, 2018 in Naples, Florida at the age of 72. Bill was a gentle and humble soul. Young and old alike were drawn to his open heart and easy manner. He believed in second chances and practiced frequent random acts of kindness. In addition to many dear friends and loving family members, Bill leaves behind his wife, best friend and ever present companion, Judy; their daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Bobby Weitzel; granddaughters Ashley, Brooke and Caitlin Weitzel; their son and daughter-in-law Chad and Peggy Callander; granddaughters Abbey and Zoey Callander; sisters Sue Friedel and Barb Buchenroth; his cousin and husband Amy and Jim Matesich; and nephew and family, Brad, Tracy, Izabella, Allegra and Rayf Friedel, nieces and their families Kim Loveless and Heidi Williams; his cousins Ann and Jay Callander. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at King Avenue United Methodist Church at a later date..In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Bill's honor are suggested to The Huggins Fund at King Ave United Methodist Church, 299 King Ave, Columbus, OH 43201,
