He enjoyed being a part of the Boy Scouts of America for many years, from Eagle Scout to Scoutmaster, and Camp Ranger. He was United States Army Veteran serving in Panama during the Vietnam War. Above all, his greatest love was for his family, and he dearly enjoyed the precious time he spent with his grandchildren, Andrew, Kaelyn, Matthew and Breanna.
