Ralph Nethers -- February 15, 2017

A funeral service for Ralph Eugene Nethers, 70, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Minister Brandon Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.  Saturday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Ralph passed away February 15, 2017, at his residence. He was born February 26, 1946, in Newark, to the late Allen Hermon and Martha Elizabeth (Karicofe) Nethers. Ralph worked as an Iron worker and later as a Locomotive Engineer for the B&O/CSX Railroad for 30 years.  He loved hunting, cars/trucks and most of all the Lord and his family. He served The Newark Church of Christ as a Deacon, Elder, Board Chairman and as Minister for 6 ½ years. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon K. (Dixon) Nethers, whom he married November 15, 1964 at The Newark Church of Christ.  They have three children, Ralph (Cindy) Nethers of Frazeysburg, Lisa (Steve) Baughman of Utica, and Linda (Bill) Bell of Newark; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, James Nethers of Newark; sister, Linda (Jim) Hoskinson of Newark, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara York (Manley); sister-in-law, Glenna Nethers, and brother-in-laws, Paul York, and Bob Manley. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartbeats of Licking County.
